Why I Love...

...FAMEWHORES!

The month of May has just been full of whores doing the fame stroll. It was hard to choose just one FAMEWHORE for the month of May so I'm gonna dish on my two faves.

LADY GAGA
I haven't decided whether or not I like Lady Gaga. Music-wise, she's alright. The overplay on the radio is having a bit of a negative effect for this girl. As for the image? It just screams "FAMEWHORE!" It's cool that she wants to be all "trendy" and "artistic" and whatnot, but the personified teacup, the bowtie hair and the constant lack of pants?...Eh.  It's all just trying much too hard. But that doesn't stop the love. I absolutely adore the celebs that have to try so hard to stay in the spotlight because they provide us with so much entertainment. I mean, I really like seeing the plethora of pantless outfits. They're so many! And they aren't skirts or dresses, it's amazing!

I also love Lady Gaga trying to convince us of what a regular ol' whore she is. Don't you dare think this girl is pristine! She loves sex...with guys and girls. Yes my friend, Lady Gaga is a card carrying member of the ever expanding Hollywood bisexual club. I feel like every other day a celeb is declaring their love for both sexes. Are they for real? I'm not them so I don't know. But it definetely screams "FAMWHORE" stroll when you have to tell everyone how much you LOVE to have SEX ALL the TIME.

LINDSAY LOHAN
Lindsay Lohan is an even better FAMEWHORE than Lady Gaga because Lady Gaga actually has a career! And yet Lindsay has the paps on her balls day and night! Lindsay hasn't been the lead in a movie that went to the theaters since I Know Who Killed Me. (Which I heard killed those who went to see it). I'm pretty sure all Lindsay Lohan does is shop for leggings or leave the country for undeserved vacations. That's when she's not digesting whatever substance she's on. My favorite example of her FAMEWHORE ways was her magazine cover and her Ellen interview. She wasn't promoting anything except her patheticness.  Total FAMEWHORE behavior. And I love it.

I hope to see more FAMEWHORING from these young ladies. It brings me much joy.

(Honorable Mentions: Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Megan Fox)

P.S. - I had to change my font. Apparently, Blogger hates Georgia now?

OH NOES! You have forsaken us!

But of course not, dear (imaginary) blog reader! Sitting at home on my ass all day "looking" for a job is a very time consuming activity. But fear not..your Juicebox future holds some Pop Culture Justice, Real Talk and, as always, I will be telling you Why I Love some lucky person, place or phallic symbol in this grand month of May.

Hopefully you all are out of school and enjoying "summer" (I keep forgetting it's still spring). And for all you poor college students: if you are so fortunate, continue to mooch off of your parents - you won't get to do this much longer without looking like a loser. For those who aren't so fortunate: job hunting is annoying in this economy, ain't it? And for all you so called "adults": sucks not to have a summer break anymore, doesn't it! (HAHA!)

So y'all come back, ya hear?

P.S. - If you're missing my fellow blogger-in-crime and become tired of my Twilight-hating, King Kevin-worshipping, Miley-idolizing ways...do not fear! She will brb.

Look over there!

And by over there I mean under the calendar. There's a list of blogs we read and you should be reading them, too. There's some fatassery, some comics, some celeb gossip, and even some literary-ness from our friend Doug Paul Case. Don't worry, he already know how awesome his name is.

It's Finally Here

Well, as you may well know, our little calendar to the right is mistaken. You see, at the time of writing, Jonas was pushed back to September. As you know, it in fact premieres tonight, a whole four months before our calendar says so. Our apologies. Hail King Kevin!

Anywho, here are my reactions (well, maybe not all of them) as I watch the first episode:

7:57 - Wait, "When the Bells Rings" is still on even after Lovato left? For shame.
8:00 - PLAID!
8:00 - Kevin's adorable. Like a cloud shaped rabbit. Nick sounds bored and isn't very good at this. Joe's jacket is awesome. They talk to the camera. We'll see how this goes.
8:01 - Kevin deserves first billing. Good job Disney, you got it right for once! However, since when does Joe play guitar?
8:03 - So they kept the famous thing there, eh?
8:04 - Nick isn't good at this.
8:07 - Will Smith shout-out. Joe and Kevin are the best part of this show. An otter that plays the trumpet. I mean, come on! That's awesome.

Woops, started homework when they started their mini music video. Hope I didn't miss anything good.

8:13 - Monocles and mustaches! Taped to his face!
8:13 - Surprise, she stole his song. And clearly she didn't tell him to go see her and thus would never find out. Oh, wait . . .
8:15 - Up! I'm so excited for that movie!
8:20 - Nick is really bad at this. And it was all a misunderstanding. Of course.
8:23 - Less Nick, more Kevin (and I never thought I'd say this) and Joe.

Okay that's it. I have work to do, and watching JoBros make music isn't helping. Let's face it, their music is the worst part about them.

Verdict: I won't watch it every week. Nick's annoying; Kevin and Joe make a pretty good goofy comedy team. Still not sure why the show exists, though. Really it all just says, Hail King Kevin! So we're back to where we started.

Why I Love...

...Sloth babies!

Now, I know sloth babies aren't cute to everyone and I can see why. But I think that they're sorta cute in the way pugs are sorta cute - you know "Ugh, it's sorta weird looking...but aw, it's so darling!" I mean, look at their big eyes! They're adorable in their own special way. Plus, how can you not appreciate such a lazy creature?? Anyway, hope the month of April has been good to you. If not, I'm sure a couple videos of sloth babies will make it all better :)

Twilight: The Non-Sucky Version

Hehe...That was sorta a vampire joke. Cute, huh?

Anywho, the other day was I thinking..."Ya know, Twilight doesn't have to be as bad as it is. With some minor plot and character tweaks, it could really be a good book." So, I wanted to offer Stephanie Meyer some suggestions for if, in her next life of course, she chooses to write this book again. I would really hate for future people to once again have to be tortured by Mrs. Meyer's horrendous "saga."

First thing's first - De-Mary Sue Bella. In other words, Bella needs to not be little Ms. Perfect-And-Loved-By-All. (Whew - that's a long name!) This chick needs not only some actual likable qualities but also some actual flaws. Sorry, but being clumsy is not a character flaw - that is an inner ear imbalance that she needs to get checked out. We can expand on what her character is now. What if she had some sort of superiority complex? She just thinks she's better than everyone. Or, what if she's painfully shy? She'd rather sit by herself and read books than make and effort to meet people. Or, what is she's too dependent on others? She can't seem to make decisions w/o the help of someone else. If she had one of these flaws or any other flaw that real humans have then 1) She'd be more believable and 2) She'd have some room to grow in the plot. Current Bella Sue does not change at all from the beginning of Twilight until the end; she does not grow or make any progress. All her current "flaws" (which, mind you, are continually excused rather than acknowledged) are still intact when the story ends. There's nothing wrong with that but if they could be tested in some way then that would make up for it. Now on to...

Mr. Perfect himself, Edward. I think Twilight would be so much more interesting if we kept Eddie as is - charming, mysterious, dominating, jealous...handsome (and every other word hat follows in the thesaurus entry). Instead, we make him a real vampire. Forget all the vegetarian stuff - it's lame. Let's just have the Cullens do their hunting elsewhere - they can keep their intelligence. Also, let's get rid of those dumb powers. They're stupid. Now, let's make Eddie cold and calculating. We'll keep the love aspect (expounded on later) but we'll have Eddie's thirst for Bella's blood override it. Cool, now we move on to...

(awkward transition)
As for all the other minor characters, Charlie won't be such a wuss and he'll make more of an effort to get to know his daughter. Bella's mom (don' t remember her name & don't care enough to look it up) will stay the same. Except, Bella would've left her Mom out of jealousy NOT b/c she's oh-so-noble as Mrs. Meyer's would have us believe. All the Forks people won't give a damn that Bella is the new girl. And we won't have every guy in town crushing on her - I think Ed and Jacob are enough. And we'll give her a girlfriend that she actually likes and connects with and one who actually likes her too. Maybe one that she can trust to tell the Cullen's secret to? We'll see. But for now...

The "love" story. Our Twilight version will not include quotes around the word love. Here's my idea. We'll keep a little of Mrs. Meyer's lore since the scent thing is a little interesting. Eddie will know he's got mad thirst for Bella's blood but he'll try to get close to her first to lure her in. As he gets to know her, he finds that he's falling for her. This will require a real friendship forming between the two of them first and not some "Oh my God...I love you!" moment. I also think Bella should spurn Eddie at first - just to complicate things in a realistic way. Now, I think this causes an actual conflict for our lovers. I also think the vampire reveal should happen later in the story. But now you're like, "This can't just be a love story!" And you're right, let's complicate things even further.

The chase. Oh my dear God up above in heaven...the chase part of Twilight was the most tedious and disgusting. So let's improve it. Let's have a conspiracy - everyone likes a conspiracy. Let's say that Eddie hires someone to kidnap Bella at a certain time for him to finally get his goods. But, as he falls for her, he changes his mind. Too bad for him, the bad guy and his team (Yes, James and his friends can stay) want the money (or whatever) they were promised so they go after her anyway. And, to test our new Bella, she doesn't have any Cullens on her side. She goes on her own or...enlists the help of her friends. Either way, she runs on her own but eventually gets caught. Of course, the truth about Eddie and his undeniable thirst comes out somewhere before she confronts him. Ok, now for the ending...

Someone must DIE! And no, it's not Romeo. (I made another funny!) Unfortunately for Twilight fans I will not let the "saga" go on. So here's two options: 1) Bella dies. Eddie gets what he wants (sucks her dry) and must live with the consequences. But that ending is a little blah. We wanted our Bella to have some sort of growing experience so maybe 2) Edward dies. She is forced to kill Edward because, even though she loves him, she knows he can't leave the vampire part of himself behind. How's that for character growth??

I don't know about you but, I'm liking this new Twilight. But we have to deal with the elephant in the room. Or should I say werewolf? Jacob was the only part of New Moon that I could stand. He would've been the reason I read on but eh, I hear he gets annoying too. So what to do about him? I say he stays and is, like he is in Twilight, the potential other man. But I say he remains what I like to call The Gordo. (Thanks Lizzie McGuire) He's the nice guy that wants the girl's affections but stays put in the friendship place b/c not only is he just that loyal, it's what he appreciates most about the relationship between him and the girl. So he can hate Eddie and his vampire-ish ways. That fits. But what I want to retain the most is the friendship aspect b/t him and Bella. One redeeming quality of the Twilight saga (of what I read) was that Bella and Jacob had not only the most developed relationship but also the most realistic. And this is despite the fact that it was still drenched in the yucky fanfiction and Mary Sue sweat that seeps out of Mrs. Meyer's pits. Ugh. I don't want them to be together at the end - that would scream fanfiction. They can just stay friends.

Anyway, those are my suggestions. I think they're good but that's because I know I'm the best. *shrug*

Peace.

Mmm...talking food....

I've been into drawing birthday cards lately. It started with my roommate, and I've managed to continue it up until this point. It's fun, and even if they look a lil' shi'y, it's the thought that counts. It's also made me want to be a greeting card designer over at Sunrise but I doubt that'll happen.

So what does a typical Wallaby card look like? Well, if I had thought of scanning the images I would have a better example. Instead, you get to look at these mildly blurry pictures from my camera!

As you can see I have a thing for drawing anthropomorphic food in various states. I'm not sure why the hedgehogs are on acid, nor why there's a worm in the cupcake's hat, nor why the peanut butter cups don't have arms. I don't even know why there's a strawberry spa. I'm an amateur genius, so I will pretend they are my artistic vision and you just don't understand.

They're all on regular computer paper, start as pencil drawings, and finally copied using a smooth-writing pen on my make-shift light box (ahem, a window). The color's come from a sweet box of gel-ish crayons. They write on ALL colors of paper, EVEN BLACK! For preservation's sake, I glue them onto some colorful card stock and trim the excess. Ta-dah!
And they all have this cupcake on the back as my signature. Goodness, I'm obese.

I think I'm going to keep this up, though I'll scan them next time (I finally know where the school's scanner is). It gives me a reason to draw various baked goods in my notebook during philosophy class.

My one fear is that this will deepen my desire for a super-duper scanner and tablet, and Illustrator and/or Photoshop. Realistically, that will not happen since Adobe likes-ah dah monies I don't have. Christmas is going to be more and more disappointing from now on.

Lator.
